Sonora's Gardens, in Horseheads, NY, has been named as one of Today's Garden Center magazine's "Top 100 Revolutionary Garden Centers" in the United States for 2007. The announcement for this national award came in the January issue of the magazine. The 100 independent garden centers that made the list were chosen for their unique programs, innovative thinking and leadership, according to a press release from Four Seasons. Only in its second year, the list includes garden centers that aren’t always the largest or the ones with the most revenue. Instead they are the ones that “provide a unique experience for their customers; offer new, unusual product mixes; and host events or activities in or out of the store,” among other criteria.
